A new way of cleaning teeth.

Whether you call it scaling and polishing or cleaning your teeth, there is a new way of doing it.

Introducing the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT). This is a new technology that offers pain-free and fear-free dental cleaning for all ages. GBT uses the state of the art Airflow, Perioflow and Piezon technologies to remove all bacteria in the mouth that contribute to tooth decay and gum disease. This system is a highly effective, least invasive way with the highest level of comfort for teeth cleaning, and is also a gentle efficient way of removing coffee, tea, wine and tobacco stains from the tooth surface.

Our teeth are covered in a sticky and colourless film made up of bacteria know as biofilm. If this biofilm is not removed, it can build-up around the area between teeth and gums, resulting in gum disease. The bacteria in biofilm can also break down enamel when it comes in contact with sugary foods and drinks, ultimately causing tooth decay.

During treatment, biofilm is first coloured with a ‘disclosing’ solution and this guides us to know where to clean with the Airflow to remove the bacteria that have built up on the teeth. Airflow then uses a fine stream of particles that can be directed very precisely on to the surface of the teeth. This is very effective at removing stains, which are often located in very fine grooves on the teeth, that are otherwise difficult to clean.
