Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth.
Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.
Comfortable, clear and removable – Invisalign transforms your smile without disrupting your life. Something that over 3 million people worldwide have already discovered.
Invisalign treats a range of straightening issues, ranging from minor tooth movements to more complex cases. Whatever the issue, the result is a new, more even smile that you will want everyone to see.
Here are some of the straightening issues that can be treated with Invisalign.
• Overcrowded teeth occur when there is a lack of room within your jaw for all of your teeth to fit normally.
• Widely spaced teeth occur when you have extra space within your jaw.
• Cross bites occur when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned. It usually causes one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth, and can happen on both the front and/or the sides of the mouth.
• Deep bites occur when the upper teeth overlap significantly with the lower teeth.
• Under bites occur when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth, usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both.
Before a treatment plan can be created, we will take an impression of your teeth to check whether they can be straightened using the Invisalign System. Once confirmed, a detailed treatment plan will then be developed using ClinCheck®, our virtual 3D treatment plan. ClinCheck shows the series of movements your teeth are projected to go through over the course of the treatment – so you can see how your teeth are expected to look at the end of your Invisalign treatment before it even begins.
When you begin your Invisalign treatment, you will wear each set of custom-made aligners in two-week increments. As you progress through the series of aligners, your teeth will begin moving, little by little, gradually moving towards the projected final position. During this time you will have occasional check-ups with us in order to monitor your progress and ensure you are comfortable with the treatment.
The time it takes to complete the treatment varies from person to person, depending on the complexity of each straightening issue. It is important to speak to us to determine how Invisalign best suits your situation and goals, and to agree the best way forward for you.
Invisalign for teenagers
Invisalign offers a range of treatment options for teenagers. The great benefit of Invisalign is that it provides an aesthetic, more flexible way to give teenagers the confidence of a great smile. Invisalign aligners are comfortable, removable and nearly invisible, which means teenagers can carry on enjoying life without the restrictions, irritation and self-consciousness often associated with metal brackets and wires. Invisalign aligners are also removable, so teenagers can continue brushing and flossing normally.
Some teenagers will be suitable for the same Invisalign treatment as adult patients. Younger teenagers, or those whose adult teeth have not yet erupted can be treated with Invisalign Teen – a treatment designed specifically for teenagers.
When it comes to deciding on the best treatment type for straightening your teeth, there really is only one option: Invisalign. Only Invisalign offers the depth of innovation, the clinical studies and technology that can accurately control the way your teeth are straightened. Fixed braces and other clear aligner solutions just can’t compete.
